Biography: 

Luis has over 16 years of experience in higher education. Prior to his current role, he has served as a Director of Hispanic Outreach and Student Programs, Coordinator of New Student Orientation & Retention, Admissions Counselor and High School College Advisor. Luis has been active and served in leadership roles in professional organizations such as the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) and the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) among other state and national organizations. In addition to his professional role, Luis has served as a campus advisor for several student organizations and serves the North Texas community through membership in various advisory boards, committees, and service organizations. Luis joined UNT Dallas in December of 2016.

As a first generation immigrant student, it has been a passion of mine to support and advocate for underserved students. I strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue an education and transform their lives. I am proud to be part of the Undergraduate Admissions team at UNT Dallas, its work seeks to bring about positive change and ensure all our students feel welcomed, seen, heard, and supported.
