Biography: 

Allison Scott is the newest counselor, joining the team in April 2020. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is so excited to work at a university dedicated to serving the city of Dallas. She currently works as a counselor providing short term individual counseling, group counseling, and wellness programing and events. Allison received her BSW in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, her MSSW in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. Allison is currently a Licensed Masters Social Worker working toward her clinical licensure.

Prior to working at UNT Dallas, Allison was the Crime Victim Advocate for the University of Texas at Arlington Police Department, providing crisis intervention for faculty, staff, and students. She previously worked for the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center providing community education for local colleges. Her clinical areas of interest are depression, anxiety, stress, crisis intervention, trauma recovery, survivors of violence, and academic concerns. Allison works from a client centered and trauma informed lens to ensure that every client feels supported and heard. It is a privilege to walk with people through difficult moments and support students on their journey to obtaining a degree.
